Age Calculator

Your age is the time from your birth date to today. Enter your birth date to see it broken into years, months, and days — plus your total time lived and exactly when your next birthday arrives.

What "exact age" means here

Age is counted the way birthdays work: you turn a year older on the anniversary of your birth date, a month older on the monthly anniversary. The calculator steps through whole years, then whole months, then counts the remaining days — so the result always matches the birthdays you have actually had.

The totals underneath (days, hours, minutes) are the same span measured in smaller units, at whole-day precision. They are handy for milestone hunting: your 10,000th day, your millionth hour, and other excuses for cake.

Frequently asked questions

How is age calculated in years, months, and days?

By calendar stepping: full years first, then full months, then the leftover days. Someone born June 15, 2000 is 26 years, 4 months, and 2 days old on October 17, 2026. Months are calendar months of varying length — not 30-day blocks — which is why this matches how birthdays actually work.

What if I was born on February 29?

Your birthday is observed on February 28 in non-leap years, and the calculator counts it that way. Someone born February 29, 2000 turns "26" on February 28, 2026, and their next February 29 birthday lands in 2028.

Why do months make age calculations tricky?

Because months are uneven: 28 to 31 days. "One month old" means the same calendar date next month, not 30 days later. This calculator uses real calendar months, so adding a month to January 31 correctly lands on February 28 (or 29).

Is the result affected by my time zone?

No. Age is computed from calendar dates in UTC at whole-day precision, so daylight saving changes and time zones cannot shift it. If you were born late at night near a date boundary, the date on your birth certificate is what counts here.

Can I calculate my age on a date in the past?

Yes — change the "as of" date to any date after your birth. Useful for "how old was I when…" questions: graduations, first jobs, or historical events.

How is "days until next birthday" counted?

It counts the days from the "as of" date (excluded) to your next birthday (included). If today is your birthday, it reads 0 — happy birthday.
